Frequently Asked Questions

What performance does the product have?

50cc = 2m2
125cc = 5m2
250cc = 10m2
500cc = 20m2

In all cases, the use of the brush with one hand is considered.

On what materials can it be applied?

It can be applied on plastics, wood, metals, glass, plaster, leather, rubber, etc. It is important that before metallizing these materials they already have a varnish on them; in the case of glass and glossy enameled porcelain, there is no need to varnish previously. From this link, you can access our instructions for use.

What resistance does it have?

The resistance is the same as that of an automotive paint.

How durable is it?

Durability is related to the sun exposure it has. If the object is exposed to the sun for a long time, it will lose its tone more quickly. It is an ideal product to be displayed indoors.

Can I chrome a mug and then heat it in a microwave?

As it is a metallizer, it is not suitable for use in the microwave.

Can I chrome rusty chrome legs?

What base does the piece have to have before applying Oh So Chrome?

If the object is made of glass or glossy porcelain, it is not necessary to previously varnish it to obtain a mirror effect. On metals, plastics, plasters, wood, it is necessary to apply a glossy base varnish.

For final protection, what product is used?

While you can use any solvent-based varnish, we recommend a polyurethane varnish of the automotive type. This is because these varnishes contain two components (varnish + catalyst to harden the varnish). You can also use lacquer or epoxy resin for protection.

Could it be applied with an airbrush or blowtorch instead of a brush?

Yes, but it has to be a glass airbrush or plastic torch since the product is corrosive and could damage your airbrush or metal torch.

Is it suitable for automotive optics, taking into account that it works with high temperatures?

Works perfectly, used frequently

Can I dip the object in Oh So Chrome instead of using a brush or torch?
